“IO Tech Centrage” iPhone app — updated 24 October 2026

In short

The app collects no data. No image, no measurement and no information about your clients ever leaves the iPhone. There is no account, no analytics tool and no advertising.

Camera

The app uses the Face ID (TrueDepth) camera only while a measurement is being taken, to compute the 3D position of the eyes. Images are processed live on the iPhone and are not saved, except for the frozen frame displayed while the bottom of the frame is marked, which is deleted when the measurement ends.

Saved measurements

Results (distances, heights, client reference entered by the optician) are stored only on the iPhone, in a file encrypted by iOS. The optician can delete them at any time or export them as CSV. Deleting the app erases all data.

Licence key

On activation, and then once a month for a subscription, the app sends only the activation code to the IO Tech website to check that the licence is active. The same code is used to download the logo the store uploaded on iotechvision.com, if it uploaded one. No measurement, image or client information is sent.
